For Your Eyes Only on Prime Video — Buy You An Ice Cream
It was inevitable that there would be at least one bad movie from Roger Moore. I was hoping that it would be the last movie, A View To Kill. However, looks like a bad movie came ahead of schedule. .
For Your Eyes Only, was already a dull title. The movie is not bad. It’s competently made. It has a more realistic story line. Like, extremely realistic. The whole movie has no gadgets at all. Like, none. The plot is also a raw spy action.
A top secret military device has been attacked and is now at a risk of being stolen. So, Bond is brought to the fold. He has to get it back. There is a bond girl who is directly linked to the case. There is another bond girl, who is linked to the villain himself. Bond travels across scenic locations.
Once again, the underwater photography is so good. Unfortunately for me, the movie was a bit of a mood whiplash. The one liners are lame, and don't fit into the story. The stunts are good, but, Moore’s ageing is a problem. Even for simple running scenes, stunt men are being employed.
He’s only 53 or 54, but looks so old.
I don’t know why. In other movies, the story and concept is so fantastical, he is not expected to be doing a lot of running or getting into too much fist fights and such. Here, this story is clearly meant for a more younger, stronger bond. Like Sean Connery, who was barely 35 in the earlier bond movies.
Not only that, the bond girls are starting to look like daughters and young girls. Why would the producers choose such young looking actresses for the bond girls? Also, both of them are not actors in the traditional sense which makes their presence in a serious movie difficult to accept.

Note: I confess, that, I cannot help buy enjoy the Moore movies. They are, despite their flaws, better than majority of bond movies. Sorry, about this, bias.

Just a forgetful movie. I just did not like it.
