License To Kill on Prime Video — Managed To Finish It. Somehow.

the hot women are back. but, it’s just not a bond movie.

This is, thankfully, the 2nd and the last movie featuring Timothy Dalton.

I don’t blame Dalton for how these movies turned out. These two movies made a decent amount of money. It’s more about the type of stories the producers decided to tell with Dalton.

They decided to make the stories more realistic. More action oriented and gritty. Somehow, I just don’t think, gritty is what James Bond should be. This is another reason why, try as I might, I will never end up enjoying the Daniel Craig movies either.

I remember falling asleep halfway through most of Craig movies.

But, I am digressing. Let’s return to this movie for now.

Good Action Movie. Just Not Bond Enough

Unlike the previous Dalton movie, this time, I managed to keep myself entertained till the credits rolled. Last time, I had to stop midway. In that sense, this is a far more entertaining and enjoyable action movie.

That is what this is. Nowhere does it feel like a bond adventure. It’s like a typical 80s action movie, with James Bond inserted into it. This is not unusual for the franchise. Bond producers have always been ‘inspired’ from other movies. Star Was is why we got Moonraker. Blaxploitation is how we ended up with Live and Let Die.

However, they always managed to make these stories their own. Perhaps it’s the new style they were doing with Dalton, and there wasn’t enough to room to make it more fun.

Final Note

even the posters are dull.

I want to write more about this movie, but it is such an obvious clone of the 80s action movies that it is dull. Dalton is more fun this time around, but I still cannot like him.

Just like Craig, something about Dalton, I just cannot seem to enjoy their take on the character.
