Make Your GitHub Account Presentable
most people are mostly shallow. appearances and what not. it would be wrong not to take advantage of this shallowness that is so inseparable from human nature.
So, you started taking coding lessons, and instead of teaching you are programming, your coding tutor is spending the first few hours helping you go through the rigmarole of using GitHub.
That means, you have a brand-new GitHub account.
Now, it’s time to spruce it up.
- Put a nice photo. Please. Let people know how you look.
- ‘Pin’ 6 repositories on the main page. Even if you have nothing to show, just put your favorite 6 public repositories. If you don’t have 6 public repositories, then create them. Just put some simple mini projects.
- Contributions. Make sure you commit at least 5 times every week. The more the better.
- Short introduction about yourself.
- Email address to contact you.
I think, this is part of your own self-fulfilling prophecy. I want my GitHub profile to look good, so, I code more often and get better. Hence, because I code more and often, the GitHub profile keeps looking good and gooder.
It’s an unending circle. It’s a good circle to get entangled in.
