Textbook Recommendation — Behavioral Economics by Korr and Plagnol
an excellent introductory textbook in Behavioral Economics and Psychology for early-stage learners of Economics.
As I have been blogging for some time now, I continue to digest ever more amount of literature related to basics of economics and now looking at additional topics based on top of the very basics. Slowly, the idea in my head is getting clearer with the direction in which I want to go. Also, the directions I don’t want to go.
For example, I know have zero interest in corporate finance, for example. Same with international finance. So, things are becoming clearer.
At the same time, I am getting very interested in behavioral economics and psychology. I had some inclination about how much overlap exists between economics and psychology along with poor economics (developmental economics) and gender equity.
This book, another short book of about 10 hours, is quick to highlight a variety of these topics. There are vivid examples, the narration is spot on, and everything is just the right amount of explanation.
I used the audible version, which is available here.
I am building a “permanent” collection of economic books. These would be books that are worth listening again and again, as they lead to more material and ideas that a student could get and act as a starting. Definitely adding this book to the permanent collection.
