Tried GitHub CodeSpaces — Does Not Work Though
For some time now, I have been seeing this option called ‘CodeSpaces’. I decided to take it for a test drive.
Created a new repository, and created a new code space as well.
Note: It’s a public, as of now, empty repo. You can see if you are able to open it in CodeSpace. Find the repo here.
But then, this comes up, almost immediately.
Eventually, I realized, it’s not going to work on the ‘web’ thing. Decided to use the ‘VS Code’ option. That worked almost immediately.
It’s slow though. Perhaps, because on the free plan. I don’t know.
However, I keep thinking, if I have to open it in VS Code, I could easily just clone the repo and do my coding work anyway. The browser thing, if it works, would be cooler. Perhaps, they are fixing it. It’s probably still a work in progress thing.
I will revisit this a few days later. I like the idea. Being able to code directly in the browser with VS Code. Just need to wait for it to get better.
I work as a coding tutor. You can hire me on Upwork, Fiverr and Codementor. You can also book a session on calendly, and visit my website. Also, video tutorials on my YouTube Channel. My Podcast is here.
