UI journey of .NET tutor —9-Aligning with freeCodeCamp and The Odin Project
It’s been two months since I posted an update on my UI Journey. For one thing, a relatively good thing (touch wood, god’s grace), some work is coming in regularly. Able to make some repayments and take care of expenses on time, instead of being late to every bill due date by weeks or months.
This a sequel to my previous post, UI journey of .NET developer — 8-Landing my first UI bootstrap gig.
Got a Top Rated rating on UpWork. Managed to save enough money to buy an RTX 3060 desktop computer. Of course, some more personal tragedies occurred at home. Again. This pandemic, man, it wont let up.
Now, the tide is falling again. There is a lull, some peace before the next storm. That means, I can return and resume my UI journey.
Aligning with a Course
I work as a tutor myself, and I am a self taught programmer. So, my syllabus has always been haphazard, unorganized mix of multiple learning sources. This technique worked for C # and .NET. I tried to adopt the same technique for UI development. I realized since my last update, this will not fly.
So, I went looking for a proper course that I can follow. I ended up with two options. Eventually, I could not decide which one to choose. Ultimately, I decided to go with both.
The two options that I am using are — freeCodeCamp and The Odin Project. They both seemed to be aimed at the beginner. Anytime I learn (or relearn) something new, I always get into a ‘beginner’ mindset. So, these two options seem to fit my needs perfectly.
Final Note
As always, I dont know when, if ever, I will be able to build proper UI systems. There is so much uncertainty around me. Every now and then, if any of this is even worth it. Everything is so depressing lately. Time will tell its own tale.
